Safety
Contra Costa Electric is committed to Safety. This commitment is demonstrated through our full time Safety personnel, monthly Safety Committee meetings, and Safety incentives.
With construction experience since 1946, all over the state, in areas such as Petro/Chemical, Industrial, Commercial, Highway, Utility work and Telecomm, we have been able to coordinate our experience with the regulations to create a living Safety Program, one that is successful in meeting the needs of our working environment.
Our Safety Program consists of:
- "ZAP" Zero Accident Program
- Employee orientation and handbook
- Employee-training program for special equipment or tasks such as forklifts, aerial lifts, confined space entry, trench work, etc.
- Thorough accident/incident investigation program
- Weekly safety meetings on each job
- Jobsite inspections done by the Company Safety Director
- Substance abuse testing when required and strict enforcement of our substance abuse policy on all projects
- Employee Safety Incentive Program rewards for thinking and working safely
- These program elements have assisted us in keeping our OSHA ratio and our Experience Modification Rates low, giving us one of the best contractor safety records in California.
- "Zero Accident Program"
Contra Costa Electric's new safety emphasis is called ZAP! (Zero Accident Program). The senior management of CCE believes that anything other than a goal of Zero is unacceptable when it comes to safety. ZAP is a motivating program with achievable goals that intimately mean more employees are going home each night to see and hear their families; to be injury and pain free. Zeroes are more than something we should obtain; they are something we must obtain.
Best safety year ever at Contra Costa Electric!
Contra Costa Electric is proud to announce that we ended the year 2007 with our lowest OSHA Injury Ratio ever recorded in our company’s history. A ratio of only 0.66. This accomplishment is credited to the hard work of all company employees. The commitment for safety starts at the top and has been carried down through all levels of the organization.
